New Delhi, May 13 (PTI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is likely to postpone elections for six vacant seats of its Standing Committee and for the posts of chairperson and deputy chairperson of 12 ward committees, officials said on Wednesday.
The General House meeting, however, will be held on May 25 at 2 pm, according to an official notice.
The officials said the elections for ward committees and the six vacant seats on the Standing Committee, originally scheduled for May 23, have been postponed and are now likely to take place on June 3.
The previously fixed date proceedings of the ward committee elections, May 19, have also been revised to May 29, they added. The meeting will be held at the corporation's Civic Centre.
In addition, 14 adjourned House meetings pending since January 2024 -- including those from June, July and October 2024, November 2025 (multiple dates), September and October 2025, and January, February, March (two meetings) and April 2026 -- will also be taken up on May 25.
The General House proceedings will begin at 2.30 pm and continue in back-to-back sessions at intervals of 10 minutes each till 4.40 pm, the order said.
