Kumari Selja on five-day Garhwal visit will meet Congress workers ahead of 2027 polls

Dehradun, May 7 (PTI) Congress general secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja arrived at the Jolly Grant Airport here late on Wednesday evening to begin a five-day tour of the Garhwal division, party leaders said.
    The visit is aimed at strengthening the party's grassroots organisation ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
    According to the party leaders, the Lok Sabha MP and former Union cabinet minister reached Dehradun and then proceeded to Rishikesh for an overnight stay.
    On Thursday, Selja will travel to Srinagar to hold a meeting with District Congress Committee (DCC) Pauri workers, followed by a night stay in Sonprayag.
    She is also expected to visit Shri Kedarnath Dham on Friday. She will then hold interaction with party workers at Augustmuni and chair a DCC meeting in Rudraprayag that afternoon.
    On Saturday, the state in-charge is scheduled to meet with DCC Chamoli workers in Birhi.
    She will continue with the tour with prayers at Badrinath Dham on Sunday morning and interact with party workers in Joshimath. Selja will conclude her visit on Monday with a meeting in Chamba before departing for Delhi.
    This follow-up visit comes after Selja's previous five-day visit to the Kumaon division last month.
