Gurugram Woman booked for falsely accusing client of rape

Gurugram, Apr 23 (PTI) A Nepalese woman, working as a cook through a mobile app, was booked for allegedly falsely accusing a client of raping her, police said on Thursday.
     According to the police, on April 20, a team received information via 'Dial 112' that a woman had been allegedly raped in a house in Sector 47.
     Considering the seriousness of the matter, a police team and ERV immediately reached the spot, they said.
     Upon reaching the location, it was revealed that the woman works as a cook through a mobile app and her services were booked by a man in Sector 47.
     When she arrived at work, she got into an argument with the client, and to seek revenge or to intimidate, she made a call to the police, claiming she had been raped.
     During the investigation, it was found that she had misled the police by providing false information, and the report was completely fabricated, they said.
     The woman could face up to a year in prison for misleading police and misusing emergency services, they added.
     A case has been registered against the woman under section 217 of BNS for misusing government resources and wasting the time of the police, they added.
