Amaravati, Dec 23 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday unveiled the state's Quantum Vision to catapult the greenfield capital city of Amaravati as one of the world's top five quantum computing hubs.
Amaravati will host the Quantum Valley.
Addressing thousands of students virtually, the chief minister underscored that the southern state will work towards developing next-generation skills, create thousands of high-value jobs, adopt a product-centric approach, develop all types of quantum computers and achieve a complete supply chain in manufacturing quantum computers.
Naidu promised a Rs 100-crore award to anybody who bags a Nobel Prize in quantum computing for their research carried out in Andhra Pradesh.

"Andhra Pradesh Vision: Quantum Valley in Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh will not follow, we will lead...everybody is prepared to produce quantum computers in Amaravati. Almost all 80 per cent or 85 per cent component partners are ready," said Naidu.

Within two years, quantum computers will be produced in Amaravati, he said, adding that if anybody wants to launch any knowledge company or technology, "they have to come to Amaravati".

Just as Silicon Valley in the US shaped the digital age, Amaravati's Quantum Valley will anchor the deep tech economy of the future, said Naidu in a post on 'X'.
He named four types of quantum computers in his presentation -- Neural Atom Quantum Computer, Trapped Ions Quantum Computer, Photonics Quantum Computer and Topological Quantum Computer.

He said the state will engage in co-development across superconducting, neural atom, photonic and ion-trap technologies to develop all types of quantum computers.

Likewise, the southern state will aim to build the complete supply chain of manufacturing in quantum computing, encompassing cryogenics, semiconductors, algorithms and AI-enabled applications.

In addition to outlining the quantum vision, the CM also launched a quantum skilling programme, aimed at building a future-ready quantum workforce and strengthening Amaravati Quantum Valley ecosystem.

Being implemented in partnership with Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship and Research (WISER) and Qubitech as the India partner, the skilling programme has already attracted 50,000 registrations from students.

According to the ruling TDP supremo, NITI Aayog has identified quantum computing as a strategic and sovereign technology, which offers a rare opportunity to enter the industry early.

Likewise, he said the Rs 6,000-crore National Quantum Mission will build capabilities across computing, communications, sensing and materials.

Observing that only over USD 700 million has been invested in quantum computing in India, Naidu said the futuristic technology promises transformational applications in personal medicine and wearables, power price optimization, sustainable agriculture, financial modelling, materials discovery and weather forecasting, among others.

As part of the state's quantum vision, he said quantum computers made in Amaravati will serve the global markets,

Moreover, he advised students to shun traditional thinking in favour of innovation and a product-based future.
