    Patna, Nov 10 (PTI) A high alert has been sounded across poll-bound Bihar following the deadly explosion near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi on Monday that killed at least eight people, Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar said.
    The state police, already on high alert for the second and final phase of the assembly polls scheduled on November 11, has further tightened security across districts.
    Talking to PTI, Kumar said, "A high-security alert has been sounded across Bihar following the explosion near the Red Fort metro station."
    "All wings of Bihar Police have been directed to maintain close watch and extraordinary vigil to thwart any attempt by anti-national elements by intensifying area domination patrolling and search operations," he said.
    A high-intensity explosion occurred near the Red Fort metro station in the evening, killing at least eight people and gutting several vehicles.
    "Security has also been heightened at all places of tourist attraction, like Mahabodhi Temple Complex in Bodh Gaya, Viswa Shanti Stupa at Rajgir, Mahaveer temple and the Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji in Patna, all airports in the state, Barauni Refinery, NTPC plant at Barh, Indian Oil Terminal at Sipara", said the missive issued to all district police.
    Besides, security has also been heightened at Vidhan Sabha building, Legislative Council building, Raj Bhavan, CM's residence, Secretariat, metro stations, railway stations, Patna High Court, district courts, and at other sensitive places.
    Patrolling has also been intensified around shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, schools, bus stops and auto stands across the state, it said.
    Police are also maintaining a close vigil on social media sites in the state.
