Polavaram project progressing as per schedule for completion in 2027 Andhra minister

Polavaram (Andhra Pradesh), June 10 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister N Ramanaidu on Tuesday said here in Eluru district that Polavaram Project works are progressing as per schedule for completion by 2027 end.
    The irrigation minister noted that diaphragm wall construction is going apace and added that buttress dam works are nearing completion to facilitate construction during the rainy season as well.
    "Chief Minister Chandrababu has already reviewed Polavaram Project works at the ground level thrice," said Ramanaidu in a press release, following a visit to the project site, accompanied by officials.
    According to the minister, the project head works have been completed up to 80 percent.
    Unable to digest the fast execution of project works, he said false theories are being circulated, observing that world renowned German company Bauer is working on this project, along with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL).
    Ramanaidu alleged that erstwhile YSRCP ministers had said that they don't understand the project and could not tell when it would be completed.
    "The coalition government under Chandrababu is doing what (erstwhile) YSRCP government could not do, by speeding up Polavaram project works," he said.
    Further, he noted that there is no compromise on the quality of the project.
