Rain in Punjab Haryana keeps max temperatures below normal limits


    Chandigarh, May 25 (PTI) Rains lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, leading to a dip in the temperature.
    A dust storm also hit Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, and its surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon.
    The maximum temperatures settled between 31 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius at most places in the two states, which was below the normal limits.
    Many parts of Punjab and Haryana received rain overnight and also during the day.
    According to the Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Faridkot, Mohali, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Ambala, Narnaul, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, Panchkula among other places, received rains on Wednesday night.
    On Thursday, rainfall occurred in many places, including Chandigarh, Ambala, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot, Barnala, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Rupnagar.
