New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) HT Media Ltd on Thursday reported a two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs

New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) HT Media Ltd on Thursday reported a two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 39.41 crore for June quarter FY27 on a year-to-year basis.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 19.12 crore in July-September period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from HT Media.

Revenue from operations was up 2.5 per cent to Rs 441.59 crore in September quarter FY27.

“In the second quarter of the financial year, your company consolidated the gains made in the first quarter and grew its consolidated revenue year-on-year with improved profitability, despite the shift in the festive season to the third quarter this year,” Chairperson and Editorial Director Shobhana Bhartia said.

Total expenses were at Rs 447.33 crore, marginally down in the second quarter of FY27.

HT Media's revenue from 'printing & publishing of newspapers and periodicals' was up 8.19 per cent to Rs 385.75 crore.

“Print continued to anchor the company’s performance, with advertising revenue growing year-on-year across both our English and Hindi titles,” she said.

However, higher newsprint costs, compounded by the rupee's depreciation amid global uncertainty, exerted some pressure on margins, Bhartia said, adding that these factors remain important considerations for the coming quarters.

Revenue from 'radio broadcast and entertainment' was down 22.7 per cent to Rs 24.88 crore.

“Our radio business' revenue declined year-on-year and sequentially following the rationalisation of our station network. This rationalisation has strengthened our profitability and established a more sustainable operating base for the business,” Bhartia said.

Similarly, its revenue from 'digital' was down 29.9 per cent at Rs 28.23 crore on a YoY basis. The segment had a “modest sequential improvement” in both revenue and profitability.

Its total income, which includes other income, was up 5 per cent to Rs 501.71 crore in Q2/FY27.

In the first half of FY27, the total income of HT Media was at Rs 998.67 crore, up 9.64 per cent.

Share of HT Media Ltd on Thursday settled at Rs 24.40 apiece on BSE, up 1.67 per cent from the previous close.
