New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) Surat-based green building materials maker BigBloc Construction Ltd, which has reported a 57.2 per cent narrowing in its consolidated net loss for the first half of FY27, said it is optimistic about the second half despite higher input cost pressure.

The company reported a narrower loss of Rs 3.47 crore for the first half of the ongoing fiscal against Rs 8.11 crore in the year-ago period, driven by a strong 31 per cent jump in revenue from operations.

The leading manufacturer of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) blocks, bricks, and wall panels said its revenue from operations for H1 FY27 climbed to Rs 162.01 crore, as against Rs 123.67 crore in H1 FY26.

Operating performance improved substantially during the six-month period, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) surging over threefold (201.4 per cent) to Rs 9.61 crore, up from Rs 3.19 crore in the year-ago period. Consequently, operating margins more than doubled to 5.93 per cent from 2.58 per cent, aided by prudent cost management and operating leverage.

"Our first-half performance reflects strong progress in scaling the business and improving operational performance... Particularly encouraging is the momentum beyond the first half, with October 2026 marking our highest-ever monthly turnover and sales volume," BigBloc Construction Director & CFO Mohit Saboo said.

He noted that while elevated lime and coal costs remain headwinds, calibrated pricing and seasonal demand in the second half provide an optimistic outlook.

"While higher lime and coal costs, geopolitical uncertainties and supply-side pressures remain challenges, we are taking a calibrated approach to pricing to balance competitiveness and margins. We remain optimistic about H2 FY27, traditionally a stronger period for construction activity," Saboo said.
