Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 1 (PTI) BJP Keralam president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Sunday said the central government has released around Rs 2,600 crore for the state and hoped it would utilised for the people's benefit.
Chandrasekhar, in an X post, said that the allocation from the Centre comes as a good news for the government and people of "debt-strapped" Keralam.
He claimed that the government under Chief Minister V D Satheesan is not being able to provide resources for medicines, power and jobs as it is debt-ridden and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the allocation.
"Good news for govt and people of Keralam on #KeralamPiravi. 2600crs released by central govt. Even as debt strapped Keralam under CM @vdsatheesan is not able to provide resources for medicines, power, jobs. #Nanni (thank you) @narendramodi ji. Now to only hope govt of Keralam utilises this for people and not allow vested interests to loot it like during @pinarayivijayan," he contended.
Neither Satheesan nor Vijayan have responded to the X post by the BJP leader.
According to Chandrasekhar's post, over Rs 19,000 crore have been released to Uttar Pradesh, more than Rs 10,000 crore to Bihar, Rs 8,010 crore to Madhya Pradesh, Rs 7,866 crore to West Bengal, and Rs 7,022 to Maharashtra.
