Sun TV Q2 PAT up 2.8 pc revenue drops to Rs 940.31 cr

New Delhi, Oct 30 (PTI) Sun TV Network Ltd on Friday reported a 2.8 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 364.59 crore in the September quarter of FY27.

     The company had reported a PAT of Rs 354.69 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to an exchange filing.

     However, its revenue from operations declined 27.66 per cent to Rs 940.31 crore in the September quarter of FY27, compared to Rs 1,299.87 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal.

     Sun TV Network's total expenses stood at Rs 609.12 crore in Q2 FY27, down 34 per cent from Rs 923.51 crore a year ago.

     Total income of Sun TV Network in the September quarter contracted 25 per cent to Rs 1,078.58 crore as against Rs 1,439.82 crore a year ago.

     Sun TV also owns the Sunrisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape of Cricket South Africa's T20 League. Besides, it has also acquired Sunrisers Leeds, a franchise 100-ball cricket team based in Leeds, England.

     “The results for the quarter and six months ended September 30, 2026, include income from the Group's Cricket Franchises (SunRisers Hyderabad, SunRisers Eastern Cape and Sunrisers Leeds ) of Rs 100.39 crore and Rs 730.22 crore,” it said.

     Sun TV Network operates satellite television channels across seven languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, Hindi and Marathi and airs FM radio stations across India.

     Its board in a meeting held on Friday also declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.75 per share, or 75 per cent, of Rs 5 each for the financial year 2026-27.

     This is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 5 per share declared earlier on August 12, 2026.

     Shares of Sun TV Network Ltd on Friday settled at Rs 607.60 apiece, down 1.75 per cent, on the BSE.
