Tata Starbucks FY26 loss narrows to Rs 49 cr

New Delhi, May 18 (PTI) Tata Starbucks has reported narrowing of net loss to Rs 49.47 crore for financial year 2025-26 aided by store expansion and sales growth.
     In 2024-25, the loss stood at Rs 135.7 crore, according to the latest annual report of Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL).
     Revenue during the fiscal increased 7 per cent to Rs 1,367 crore.
     Tata Starbucks operates the QSR chain of Starbucks cafes in a 50:50 JV with TCPL and US-based Starbucks Corporation.
     "Growth was primarily driven by store expansion, with the company opening 23 net new stores during the year," the report said.
     Besides store addition, the growth was supported by innovation in beverages and food programme, seasonal collaborations and enhanced gifting portfolio, it said.
     Tata Starbucks' same-store sales growth (SSSG) was positive for the year, said TCPL. SSSG evaluates the percentage change in total sales for stores that have been operating for a year or more.
     In FY26, the JV crossed the major milestone of 500 stores, operating from 80 cities, strengthening presence across metros while building momentum in Tier II and III cities, it added.
     According to the company, the store additions were calibrated and phased, with a clear focus on improving profitability and operational efficiency.
     "Tata Starbucks is expanding with discipline, focusing on calibrated store growth, deeper city penetration and stronger format innovation," it said.
     The company's strategy balances premium positioning with widening access, strengthening presence across metros while building momentum in Tier II and III cities.
     Over the outlook, TCPL said it remains committed to expanding the store base, enhancing customer and partner experiences, and driving profitable growth through execution focus and productivity initiatives.
