Mumbai, May 11 (PTI) Diversified group Bharat Forge Ltd. (BFL) on Monday said it will manufacture and supply critical landing gear forgings to Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer for commercial and defence aircraft programmes under a long-term agreement.
The mandate reinforces Bharat Forge's expanding role in the global aerospace supply chain and strengthens its position as a trusted partner for complex, safety-critical components, the company said in a regulatory filing.
With this, Bharat Forge becomes the first supplier from India to enter Embraer's global aerospace supply chain for forged components.
The contract reflects a shared commitment to quality, reliability, and long-term collaboration, it said.
"We look forward to growing and adding value to our association with Embraer in the coming years. These contracts will enable to create scale for critical structural components complementing the scale built in the aero engine components space," said Amit B Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint MD, Bharat Forge Limited.
This first supply contract signed with an Indian company reflects Embraer's commitment to advancing the aerospace ecosystem in India and creating long-term value across the entire supply chain, Embraer said in a release.
"In line with our supply chain diversification strategy, we view India as a major opportunity. This contract reinforces our plans to create a more resilient and competitive supply chain, as well as our commitment to developing the Indian aerospace industry," said Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer.
Embraer is expanding its presence in India.
In January this year, the company, along with Adani Group, announced a strategic collaboration that aims to set up a regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India.
