GoSports Foundation Welcomes Meghana Narayan as Governing Board Member

Bengaluru, India – July 2, 2024 – GoSports Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation empowering talented Indian athletes, today announced the appointment of Ms. Meghana Narayan to its Governing Board.

Ms. Narayan brings a unique blend of athletic accomplishment and business acumen to the Board. A decorated swimmer, Bangkok Asiad 1998 participant and former national champion, Ms. Narayan further complemented her athletic career with a graduate degree in computation from the University of Oxford (on a Rhodes Scholarship) and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2007. Following a stint as Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, she co-founded Wholsum Foods (Slurrp Farm and Millé), a venture that has provided outlets for her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to healthy living. Ms. Narayan will join Board Chair Unmish Parthasarathi, CEO Deepthi Bopaiah and Trustees Thomas Ollapally, Abishek Laxminarayan and Nandan Kamath on the Board.

"We are delighted to welcome Meghana Narayan to the GoSports Foundation Board and to have her many talents back in Indian sport," said Nandan Kamath, Managing Trustee of GoSports Foundation. "Meghana brings an invaluable set of skills and insights and we are excited to have her on board."

"I am delighted to be joining the Governing Board of the GoSports Foundation. This is a unique opportunity for me to give back to sport, which has given me so much. I deeply resonate with the GoSports Foundation's goals and look forward to contributing to the organisation’s impactful work", said Ms. Narayan.

Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO of GoSports Foundation, added, "Meghana's sporting experience and business expertise will bring valuable perspective to the journey that lies ahead for us. We are confident her insights will be invaluable to our team and, in turn, to Indian sport."

Founded in 2008, GoSports Foundation has a proven track record of creating pathways for India's Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls with its athlete scholarship and development programmes. At the Tokyo 2020 Games, 33 able-bodied athletes supported by the Foundation participated and seven para-athletes secured eight medals. This success reflects the guidance of Indian sporting legends Rahul Dravid and Pullela Gopichand, who serve as Board Advisors along with John Gloster, Director of Sports Science.

As the GoSports Foundation embarks on its journey of ‘Enabling Sports Excellence’ in India, Meghana Narayan’s addition to the Board strengthens this winning team.
