Dutch intelligence officers reportedly uncovered a Russian cyber espionage operation which found that former White House advisor Jared Kushner held two secret foreign bank accounts holding billions of dollars.
According to an excerpt from the upcoming book Princes and Thieves: Jared Kushner and Mohamed bin Zayed’s Secret Plot to Remake the Middle East, published in a report by Vanity Fair’s Matthew Cole, Russia’s foreign military intelligence agency reportedly uncovered screenshots taken from Kushner’s iPhone on a remote server
The information came to light after the Netherlands ' Defence Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) arrested a GRU operative in the UK and asked him to work for them, gaining access to a Russian server in Rostov.
In 2018, MIVD hackers reverse-engineered the vulnerability to mirror Kushner’s screen, capturing real-time surveillance as he logged into financial accounts.
The Dutch observed that Kushner accessed a UAE-based bank account which was being covertly funded with hundreds of millions of dollars routed through an Azerbaijani bank to obscure the origin.
At the time, Kushner was serving as a senior advisor to Trump and was director of the Office of American Innovation in the first Trump administration. He is married to Ivanka, Trump’s daughter, and currently works with Steve Witkoff as a US special presidential envoy.
The bank account which the report dubbed Alpha was held at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the UAE. The book details how UAE ruler Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) initially proposed a $10 billion slush fund to support the Trump administration's foreign policy goal. The slush fund idea was stalled; however, the two ultimately put at least $2 billion into two accounts for Kushner.
The Beta account was used by the Crown Prince to transfer $1 billion to Kushner, Vanity Fair reported.
One source said told Vanity Fair that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu learned of the money and encouraged Kushner to deposit it in the Israeli central bank to mask them as government assets.
On Thursday, Kushner released a lengthy statement denying the allegations.
“The allegations made by this author are completely insane and never happened,” he said. “We denied every one of these claims on the record, yet the author failed to provide a single shred of evidence to substantiate any of them. No bank statements, wire transfer records, account numbers, transaction dates, or other verifiable details were provided to support these extraordinary accusations.”
“These are outrageous fabrications being presented as investigative journalism,” he added. “This is not journalism. It is a mixture of fantasy, fiction, and advocacy, written by someone who is either deeply disturbed or acting with sinister intent.”
