US President Donald Trump’s attire while welcoming his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, has sparked speculation about his health after he was seen wearing winter clothes at 64 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees Celsius).
Trump broke protocol when he greeted Xi personally at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump. Trump was wearing thick black leather gloves and a long overcoat, a winter wardrobe, while Xi was clad in his trademark suit. Melania was also seen wearing a light casual jacket and skirt, with no gloves or coat. Trump was also seen removing his glove from his right hand to shake the Chinese president’s hand. He then put his glove back on, as the camera zoomed in on the heavy makeup on his hand.
Eighty-year-old Trump’s unusual clothing at this time of the year was unusual, and many attributed it to poor thermoregulation due to age.
