After the video of a couple of men stealing earrings from the body of a Nepal flood victim caused a major uproar, the Nepal Police confirmed that the duo involved had been identified and arrested. An official press release by the police department identified them as 38-year-old Umesh Chaudhary and 25-year-old Madan Gurung.

Netizens were shocked as two men took off the earrings from the dead body of a victim after the body was washed ashore. With a lot of people watching, the duo used a bamboo pole to hold the victim's body steady in the water until the ornaments were removed. They made no effort to pull the body out of the water and displayed no shame or remorse as they continued with their vile plot in broad daylight.

Sadly, there were no efforts from the onlookers to stop the two duo as they continued to disrescpect the demised person before leaving the spot with their trophy.

According to the press release, they were arrested from the Pokhara Bus Park in Chitwan district. Many users had earlier claimed that the video was captured in Chitwan.

**Regarding the Arrest of Persons Who Stole Earrings from a Deceased Person**

 

At approximately 8:35 a.m., a devastating flood accompanied by a massive landslide in the Bhotekoshi River swept away a body and brought it to the riverbank. This office received a video showing individuals behaving inhumanely towards the deceased and stealing earrings from the body.

 

During an investigation into the video, the following individuals, who were seen stealing gold earrings from the deceased's body as shown in the footage, were taken into custody on from near Pokhara Bus Park in Ward No. 1 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan District. Further investigation is underway.

 

Persons Arrested:

 

1. Madan Gurung, 25, originally from Ward No. 1 of Binayi Tribeni Municipality, Nawalparasi District, and currently residing at his maternal uncle's house in Lila Chowk, Ward No. 1, Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan.

 

2. Umesh Chaudhary, 38, originally from Ward No. 5 of Chandebela Municipality, Sunsari District, and currently residing in Supari Tole, Pokhara Bus Park, Ward No. 2, Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan.
