In a rare acknowledgement, a terrorist with Lashkar-e-Taiba links has acknowledged Dhurandhar-style shootings killed over 30 terrorists in a span of three to four years.

In a video purportedly captured in May, Rizwan Hanif, LeT's PoK deputy chief and senior commander alleges that Indian intelligence agencies carried out killings of the Lashkar operatives with the help of "unidentified gunmen".

These killings allegedly occurred in Karachi, Peshwar, Rawalpindi and PoK towns Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot, according to Hanif.

Hanif, who is notorious for his involvement in terrorist recruitment and cross-border infiltration, also made derogatory remarks against Hindus.

Among key LeT terrorists killed by unidentified gunmen in the past include Abu Saifullah aka Razaullah Nizamani, who is responsible for the 2006 attack on RSS headquarters. He was killed by unidentified gunmen in Sindh.

The allegations come amid violent protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. While Hanif did not provide any evidence to his claims, the Indian government in the past had dismissed similar allegations.

Recently, reports claimed that the killing of two non-local labourers in Kulgam and two policemen in Anantnag were orchestrated by LeT commander Latif Bhat and his associate Waris Shah.

In July, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) named LeT chief Hafiz Saeed as an accused in the Pahalgam terror attack.
