In a video that is now gaining attention on social media, Cambodian women and children are seen handling mortar rounds.
The video originally posted on Facebook shows a couple of women with children loading mortar shells and setting them on the floor with no safety equipment nearby. Replies to the video on media say that they are the wives of Cambodian soldiers.
The video reflects the reality of how women who live in harsh conditions are forced to take part in the wars and fighting.
The video was first posted by a social media account called 'Thai Surround.' The contents of the footage have not been verified.
However, it is not the first time Cambodia has been accused of having children and women engaged in ammunition and the war.
The fighting between Cambodia and Thailand has reached its third day.
Both countries accused the other of breaking the ceasefire deal, which was made early this year, brokered by Malaysia and pushed by US President Donald Trump.
About 400,000 civilians had to flee both countries' border regions to seek shelter.
The conflict has killed at least 13 soldiers this week, AP reported.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had said that the fighting would continue. Cambodia’s Senate President Hun Sen has promised a fierce response in turn.
Trump said on Tuesday that he would make a phone call to stop the war.
