At least 12 people have been confirmed dead, and many were injured after a suicide bombing outside a court in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. Many of the injured were petitioners and lawyers.

The sound from the blast was heard as far as six kilometres from the blast site. The cause of the blast has not yet been confirmed.
Reports say that the attacker attempted to enter the courthouse. However, after failing to enter went near a police vehicle to detonate the explosives.
Following the blast, the people in the court were evacuated.

Sources who spoke to local media say that the severed body parts of the suicide bomber were found at the place of the explosion.
