Ahead of Tyler Robinson's arrest, there were reports that the killer of Charlie Kirk might have been motivated by 'anti-fascist' and 'pro-transgender' ideology. The main reason for this was the engravings found on the abandoned bolt-action rifle used by the assassin.

Now his mother, Amber Jones Robinson, has confirmed the speculations, saying her son had turned "more pro-gay and trans-rights-oriented" over the past year. Amber is a care worker with Intermountain Support Coordination Services.

Amber disclosed that Tyler was in a relationship with his transgender roommate, following which he became more liberal politically and started backing the LGBTQ community.

Tyler was turned in by his father Matt Robinson, who runs a construction firm, after he recognised the rifle gifted to his son. Tyler has two younger brothers, with whom he can be seen enjoying vacations in the photos on the family's social media.

Tyler was charged with felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and committing a violent offence in the presence of a child.

Robinson allegedly struck at Kirk, 31, in the neck with a single shot, following which he was rushed to hospital. But he succumbed to the injuries after undergoing a surgery.

Earlier, two other people were arrested in the case after they were suspected of shooting at Kirk. One of them was George Zinn, 71, who was hauled away in handcuffs. Hours later, police clarified that he was not the shooter.

The second person arrested by FBI was Zachariah Qureshi but was later released after questioning.
