An FBI probe investigating the assassination of Charlie Kirk has said that Tyler Robinson's transgender roommate—thought to have coaxed him into committing the crime—was "extremely cooperative" in their probe.

Although the FBI did not name her at first, media outlets later claimed that the roommate was Lance Twiggs (a male transitioning into a female) further alleging that Robinson was in a "romantic relationship" with her at the time.

However, FBI officials told Fox News Digital that Twiggs "had no idea" of Robinson's plans to shoot Kirk.

They added that text messages and other communications between Robinson and his partner helped FBI agents identify him as their "college-age" shooter, and establishing his movements and intentions.

This allegedly included chats that referenced ammunition, disguises, and the Mauser rifle later used in the shooting.

This follows earlier reports of Tyler Robinson's father turning him over to the authorities after he reportedly confessed to shooting Kirk. His father, Matt Robinson is a law enforcement veteran at the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

After Matt reportedly informed the authorities, he stayed with his son until the police arrived.

Reports also claimed that Robinson's family were conservative Mormons—followers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints—but that he had become increasingly political over the years.

Charlie Kirk has often criticised the "LGBTQ agenda" and opposed gender-reassignment procedures.

Although the shooting came a while after Kirk replied to a question on transgender mass shooters, Twiggs' cooperation with the police has again put Robinson's motive for the shooting in question.

Charlie Kirk (31) died on Wednesday after a single gunshot to the neck during a public appearance at the Utah Valley University (UVU) as a part of his 'American Comeback' tour, despite online opposition from the students of the university.
