UPDATE: Charlie Kirk's shooter was identified as Tyler Robinson, 22, from Utah. He was turned in by his father.
US authorities have revealed that Charlie Kirk was shot dead with a bolt-action rifle, which has been recovered from a wooded area nearby.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the ammunition engraved with transgender and anti-fascist ideology was found inside the rifle. The rifle was still loaded with three unfired rounds in its magazine, all of which had the engraved wording on them.
The unidentified shooter is believed to be of college-age, which helped him blend in with the students at the Utah Valley University. He arrived on campus at 11.52 am on Wednesday, less than 30 minutes before the shooting.

Videos from the event showed Kirk speaking into a handheld microphone while being seated under a white tent at Utah Valley University. A shot is then fired at him and blood is seen gushing out of the left side of his neck. He was shifted to hospital immediately but succumbed to his injuries later. After the shooting, the assassin jumped off the roof and fled to a wooded area. The gun was found from this location.
Using the footage of the suspect, authorities are trying to identify him. The video is still not made public. "We are confident in our abilities right now, and we would like to move forward in a manner that keeps everyone safe and then moves this process appropriately," Beau Mason from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
The FBI has received around 140 tips from the public so far. The sleuths are also analysing imprints of forearm, palms and footwear.
