Sydney: Bodies of Jesse Baird, partner found after police officer charged with murder

In a sensation double murder case, the Australian police on Tuesday found bodies of a missing couple, who were allegedly shot dead by a jilted police officer lover.

Former television host Jesse Baird, 26, and his partner flight attendant Luke Davis, 29, were reported missing from last week. A search was launched on Wednesday after couple's bloodied items were found in a bin near Sydney.

On Friday, New South Wales Police Force Senior-Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon, Baird's ex-boyfriend, was charged with murders of both men. Reportedly, Lamarre dated Baird until last year.

It was the information provided by Lamarre that led the police to their bodies. The bodies were discovered on a rural property in the town of Bungonia.

According to Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty, the bodies were found in "surf bags", that were used to transport the deceased couple in a white van from Baird's home. Police belived that the couple were murdered in Baird's home.

Lamarre, was produced in court on Friday and was refused bail. He first joined the police force in 2019 and was previously a celebrity blogger.

The case is believed to be the first suspected murder carried out by a New South Wales police officer in decades. The incident had left the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Board to univite the NSW Police from the parade this year.

The Board has taken the decision to request that the Police do not march in the 2024 Parade, the board said in a statement late Monday.

Teh NSW Police members had a prominent presence in the Parade and also were part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The board noted that the 28-year-old alleged killer had participated in the parade in the past.
