US: Indian-origin couple, 2 children found dead in New Jersey, probe on

The police is investigating the matter as a homicide

In a shocking incident, a family of four including two children were found dead in their home in New Jersey, United States. The incident was reported on Wednesday and the police have launched a homicide investigation.

Tej Pratap Singh, 43, Sonal Parihar, 42, and their 10-year-old son and 6-year-old kids were identified as the deceased in Plainsboro, said the Plainsboro Police Department.

A joint statement by the authorities said that the police received a 911 call requesting a welfare check at the residence in Plainsboro, where the bodies were discovered.

"This tragedy remains under investigation and autopsies are being performed today," they said.

The surveillance footage of the area is being checked by the police. They also urged the public’s cooperation with any necessary information relating to the incident.

"We are all saddened by this tragic event. What happened in our community is beyond comprehension," stated Mayor Peter Cantu.

"Please be assured that this is an isolated occurrence and there are no additional concerns for the safety and well-being of the community related to this incident," said Chief Eamon Blanchard, director of Public Safety.

Reportedly, Singh and Parihar appeared to be a happy couple. Singh was active in the community as well. He worked as a Lead APIX Engineer for Ness Digital Engineering.

According to their relatives, Parihar had career in IT.

Singh and Parihar purchased their home in August 2018 for USD 635,000, said reports. Neighbours described the family as friendly and said they could often be seen walking around the quiet street.
