A series of explosions in Jalalabad left three dead including Taliban officials and injured around 20, on Saturday. TOLONews reported that around 20 people, mostly civilians, were moved to a hospital.

Jalalabad, Afghanistan's fifth-largest city, had fallen to the Taliban just one month ago, on the same day that Kabul fell. The city was the site of protests last month, where demonstrators attempted to raise teh former Afghanistan national flag in the city square. The Taliban responded with firing that killed three people.

It is not just anti-Taliban demonstrators and supporters of the former regime that have cause to attack the group, but also the terror outfit Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), which conducted the deadly bombing at the Kabul airport which left over 100 dead including several US military personnel.

Saturday's bombing reportedly targeted Taliban vehicles with a roadside bomb. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts.
