*[Update] This story has been corrected to reflect a new development about the tweet Trump shared
Election Day is over and with it, seemingly, the surge of votes for US President Donald Trump—as Republican voters were largely expected, and sometimes encouraged, to vote in-person.
When Trump called it a night on Tuesday, he did so after issuing a worrying statement—demanding that voting should stop after Election Day. He appeared to proclaim his own victory, though millions of votes remained uncounted and no candidate had yet to reach the magic 270 mark. With his threat to take matters to the Supreme Court, it remained unclear as to how and on what grounds Trump would challenge the legitimacy of the election, given that no US election has seen all votes counted solely on Election Day.
On Wednesday morning in the US, Trump’s usual Twitter storm belied the thought process the President was undergoing as he watched his lead trickle down in some states.
Last night I was leading, often solidly, in many key States, in almost all instances Democrat run & controlled. Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear as surprise ballot dumps were counted. VERY STRANGE, and the “pollsters” got it completely & historically wrong!

“Last night I was leading, often solidly, in many key States, in almost all instances Democrat run & controlled. Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear as surprise ballot dumps were counted. VERY STRANGE, and the “pollsters” got it completely & historically wrong!” Trump tweeted.
The tweet was later flagged by Twitter and covered by a disclaimer saying “Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”
Trump then tweeted an attack on mail-in ballots, a topic he has frequently complained about, despite a lack of data backing his claims that mail-in ballots are subject to largescale voter fraud.
How come every time they count Mail-In ballot dumps they are so devastating in their percentage and power of destruction?

“How come every time they count Mail-In ballot dumps they are so devastating in their percentage and power of destruction?” Trump tweeted.
An update gives Biden 100% of new votes — 128k+ pic.twitter.com/SPUrTf8gXN

He then retweeted a post by Matt Mackowiak (and former press secretary to US Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison), purporting to show Biden gaining over 128,000 votes in a single update in a county in Michigan, while Trump gained none.
This tweet was taken and share honestly. I have now learned the MI update referenced was a typo in one county.

OK, an update here from a helpful Twitter user:

The screenshots are reversed. Biden's total DROPPED from 2,130,695 to 1,992,356 because @DecisionDeskHQ found a typo (an extra zero) in county-level data. pic.twitter.com/cBslqa0aWE
UPDATE: The tweet Trump shared has since been taken down. The original author of the tweet now attributes the phenomena to a typo. A Twitter user posted a screenshot of the map put up by Decision Desk HQ, which shows that it was actually a downwards correction of Biden's tally.
