US President Donald Trump is not known for being careful with his choice of words. At a radio show with conservative host Rush Limbaugh, Trump dropped the f word. The profanity, however, was censored for the listeners.

“If you f*** around with us, if you do something bad to us, we are going to do things to you that have never been done before,” Trump said in reference to Iran. Speaking on Iran, the nation on which the Trump administration has tried reimposing more sanctions on, Trump said, "You don't see the terror the way you used to see the terror.” He said the economic sanctions imposed on the nation has hindered support for terrorist organisations such as Hamas.

The profanity was captured on the host’s live stream and memorialised in a transcript on his website. The president has been caught swearing on the mic before, as has his Democratic challenger Joe Biden. Right before his address at the Oval Office about the COVID-19 pandemic in March, Trump was caught saying, “Oh f***”. At the Obamacare signing ceremony at the White House in March 2010, then vice president Joe Biden was heard whispering over the mic to the then president Barack Obama, “This is a big f***ing deal”.

Trump called into Limbaugh's show for two hours and had to be played off by music when the segment ended. Limbaugh’s programme is played on nationally syndicated radio channels and could face a problem if the f word is not bleeped out. Limbaugh was the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump in February this year.

The Federal Communications Commission is against profanities being aired during daytime as children may be in the audience.
