Following Egypt's controversial 3-2 defeat to Argentina, where the African champions led 2-0 until the 79th minute before conceding three goals in 13 minutes, Egypt's coach Hossam Hassan launched a strong accusation against FIFA, claiming his team was subjected to "injustice." Hassan asserted that Egypt outplayed Argentina in all aspects of the game and suggested that external factors, possibly to ensure Lionel Messi and the reigning world champions remained in the competition, influenced the outcome. Specifically, he cited a denied penalty for an alleged foul on Mohamed Salah, a disallowed goal for Mostafa Ziko, and an unreviewed foul by Alexis Mac Allister in the build-up to Enzo Fernandez's winning goal as key officiating errors that were not adequately addressed by VAR, leading to Egypt's dramatic loss.

Egypt coach Hossam Hassan launched a scathing attack on FIFA after his side's dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina, claiming they were victims of an "injustice".

The defending world champions staged a stunning comeback after trailing 2-0 until the 79th minute, scoring three goals in the space of 13 minutes to snatch victory. Captain Lionel Messi played a decisive role, contributing to two of the goals.

The match, however, was overshadowed by a series of controversial officiating decisions that left the Egyptian camp furious.

Hassan insisted his team outplayed Argentina "in everything" and alleged that FIFA wanted to keep Messi and the reigning world champions in the tournament.

"We looked better than the reigning champions—better in everything—but the result was influenced by internal factors on the pitch and external factors off it," Hassan told reporters.

"Perhaps they wanted to keep the world champions in the competition. Perhaps they wanted Messi to stay in the running. In football, there are sometimes external factors that go beyond the technical aspects. The world champions received support at every level," he alleged.

Hassan also questioned several key refereeing decisions.

He claimed Egypt were denied a penalty after an alleged foul on Mohamed Salah, saying the incident was not even reviewed by VAR. He also expressed frustration over the disallowed goal scored by Mostafa Ziko early in the second half, which would have extended Egypt's lead.

The Egypt coach further alleged that Alexis Mac Allister committed a foul in the build-up to Enzo Fernandez's stoppage-time winner, arguing that the incident also escaped VAR scrutiny.

"We have all seen the shirt pulled back [by Mac Allister], and not even a VAR check. Life is unfair, normal life is unfair, so why is there no fairness in sports?" Hassan asked.

Earlier, Egypt stunned Argentina in the 15th minute when Yasser Ibrahim headed home from Marwan Attia's corner. The African side doubled their advantage in the 67th minute as Mostafa Ziko finished off a swift counterattack following excellent work by Mohamed Salah and Haissem Hassan.

Argentina mounted a remarkable late fightback. Cristian Romero pulled one back with a header from Messi's pinpoint free-kick before Messi himself equalised four minutes later with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

The comeback was completed in stoppage time when Enzo Fernandez calmly slotted home from the edge of the penalty area to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory for Argentina.
