Will Manchester United sign Sandro Tonali over Elliot Anderson? NUFC want THIS sum for CDM as Arsenal, City...

Manchester United may turn down the Italian if they find him overpriced as well, but Tonali is hopeful of remaining in the Premier League with a club in European competition, Fabrizio Romano said.

Newcastle United may lose Sandro Tonali alongside Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento when the summer transfer window opens, but he is unlikely to seal a move back to Italy.

The 25-year-old Tonali is almost unaffordable for nearly all Serie A teams, including Juventus, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano said. According to the expert, the midfielder is likely to remain in England, with Arsenal, Manchester United, and City among the likely destinations.

While Newcastle would like to keep him, the Italian may choose a switch, citing the need to play in European competition. The Magpies are currently fourteenth in the Premier League, and even a top-ten finish seems unlikely.

How much money will Sandro Tonalo cost?

An earlier report had claimed that the Magpies had promised Tonali he would be allowed to leave this summer if the team failed to secure a Champions League spot. This could well be the reason why the Italian is not openly rebelling to secure a move. Thus, Newcastle may have to let Tonali leave, and if so, will demand a sum between €90 million and €110 million, Fabrizio Romano said. This will effectively rule out all Italian clubs from the competition, to the dismay of Tonali.

Interestingly, another report has said that Manchester United have decided to back out of the Elliot Anderson transfer race after learning that Nottingham Forest wanted around €139 million for their youngster.

Wanting to sign two, if not three, midfielders, the Red Devils will not overspend on any player. While they are tracking Tonali, everything depends on what the final sum comes to, including the transfer fee, agent’s fees, and player salary, among other things. If these go beyond their calculations, Tonali would be turned down as well.

However, Romano confirmed that neither of the Manchester clubs have made any official enquiries for the CDM. “There is interest from Manchester United and Manchester City. So for sure both clubs are following the situation, and for sure he’s going to be one of the names of the summer to follow,” he reportedly said during a YouTube session.

The same goes for Arsenal, who are yet to make a move of any degree.

“And also my understanding is that Tonali would like to continue in the Premier League. Tonali is happy at the highest level possible in terms of league, and he would be happy to continue in the Premier League,” he reportedly added.
