Less than 48 hours remain for the most hyped match of T20 World Cup 2026 - India vs Pakistan. The arch-rivals locked horns thrice in the 2025 Asia Cup, including the final, and India emerged victorious in all three occasions. Their head-to-head record in T20 World Cups is also a resounding 7-1 in favour of India.

However, T20 is a format where past laurels don't count for much. Also, the combination of a slow spinning surface in Colombo combined with Pakistan's spin-heavy strategy means that India might not find the game as easy it was in the Asia Cup. Keeping the cricket aside, this high-voltage clash will also have a special performance from rapper-singer Hanumankind.

According to reports, Hanumankind is expected to perform before the start of the game. It is arguably a move from the T20 World Cup organizers to add more footage to the marquee clash buildup. The problem, though, is that there is a heavy rain forecast for Sunday in Colombo, especially from afternoon onwards.

The ICC guidelines for T20 World Cup 2026 does provide for 60 minutes of buffer time to ensure that no overs are lost if play starts within this period. However, a greater delay could mean a shortened game and for now, that is what the forecast is hinting at. In such a scenario, this performance from Hanumankind could be a double-edged sword.

Hanumankind, originally named Sooraj Cherukat, is a renowned rapper-singer with exceptional popularity all across the world. Recently, he has been trending in India due to his antics in Dhurandhar where he performed for a few songs. He has also been involved in a couple of soft drink Ads.
