Venezuela international Jon Aramburu of Real Sociedad has impressed Manchester United who may make a move for him in the coming transfer windows, a Spanish media report said. At 23, right-footed Aramburu has already established himself as one of the rising stars of the South American team and is in the process of becoming one of the most influential players in the Sociedad line-up as well.
Jon Aramburu is a right-back who can also play on the opposite flank or, alternatively, as a right midfield flank (RMF). Manchester United gaffer Ruben Amorim loves his wing-backs who can swiftly launch a counter through the wings while not forgetting their defensive responsibilities. United’s Luke Shaw is nowhere near his best due to constant injury woes while Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot have failed to deliver week in and week out. While Lisandro Martinez is reportedly being asked to play as a CDM upon his full recovery, it is evident that the Argentine will not be used as a left-back either. Thus, reinforcement could help Amorim's project at a time the club remain eleventh in the English top-tier league after witnessing their worst start in over three decades.
Jon Aramburu market price
In January 2025, Real Sociedad managed to extend Jon Aramburu's contract until 2030. The contract extension came after a season in which he reportedly played 49 official matches for the side across La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and European competitions.

United will have to pay the Spanish side at least €15 million for the full-back, Fichajes said in a report. However, the amount is said to be the base price and it could increase drastically depending on the time and situation of both parties involved, the report added. The English team's sporting directorate is certain that Aramburu is a sensible investment if they are to spend to strengthen the club's defence, the report further said.
Is Jon Aramburu signing complicated?
Sociedad will not want to see their squad depleted due to the departure of a key star but will be able to rebuild with the amount the deal could bring in. However, the club may find it more safe and realistic to retain him for at least one more season so that they can demand a better price for him all the while identifying potential replacements, the Fichajes report pointed out.
