Golfer Aditi Ashok narrowly misses Olympic medal, finishes fourth

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok finished fourth after carding 3-under 68 in final round at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday. This is Aditi's second Olympic appearance. With a spectacular performance this year, Aditi, who finished 41st at Rio in 2016, has already scripted history.

Nelly Korda of the US won the gold medal at the Olympic women's golf with a tense one-stroke victory. New Zealander Lydia Ko and Japan's Mone Inami will have a playoff for the silver and bronze medals.

Congratulating Aditi for taking Indian golf to new heights, President Ram Nath Kovid tweeted: “Well played, Aditi Ashok! One more daughter of India makes her mark! You have taken Indian golfing to new heights by today's historic performance. You have played with immense calm and poise. Congratulations for the impressive display of grit and skills.”
