Former Indian cricket captain and current BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly was admitted to the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday after he fainted while working out. He also experienced chest pain, according to reports.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted that Ganguly suffered a "mild cardiac arrest" and wished him a speedy recovery. "Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!" she tweeted.

Ganguly has undergone cardiac tests at the hospital including EEG and ECG. His condition was reported to be stable. Some media reports claimed Ganguly may undergo a heart procedure.

Ganguly became president of the BCCI in October 2019. He was one of India's most successful Test and ODI captains and retired from international cricket in 2008.
