Lionel Messi broke legendary footballer Pele’s record earlier this week when he scored his 644th goal for Barcelona. Pele had scored 643 goals with Santos, creating the all-time record of most goals with a single club.
Brewing company Budweiser has come up with a unique way to mark the occasion―sending customised beer bottles for each of Messi’s goals to the goalkeepers the Barcelona forward has scored against.
A promotional video was posted on Budweiser Football’s Twitter handle, with the tweet, “In this game, no goal is easy.”
“Which is why we’ve created a custom bottle for all 644 goals Leo Messi scored. Yes, that’s 644 unique bottles. Sent to all 160 goalkeepers Messi scored against to toast their part in making history,” the rest of the tweet read.

In another tweet, the account said that “Kings recognise Kings”.
“644 goals = 644 moments of Messi magic. And yes, we’ve created a custom bottle for every single goal to send to the keepers to toast their part in history. Kings recognize Kings,” Budweiser Football wrote.
The bottles all have a number and a logo showing Messi in a celebration pose.
Former Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon took to Twitter to post a picture of him posing with two bottels numbered 514 and 515.
“... thanks for the beers. I’ll take it as a compliment. We have great battles over the years! Congratulations on breaking the 644 record #Messi! it really is an unbelievable achievement. Cheers!” Buffon wrote.
Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak also posed with his beer sent by the King of beers.
“Congratulations on your great achievement of 644 goals, Leo. I never like conceding but the challenge of stopping you brings the best out of goalkeepers too,” Oblak tweeted, thanking Budweiser Football for the special gift.
