Former India captain Kapil Dev has resigned from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Cricket Advisory Committee.
Kapil's decision to step down comes close on the heels of Shanta Rangaswamy's resignation from the Supreme Court-appointed CAC. The former World Cup-winning captain wrote an email to the Committee informing them of his decision and did not give a reason.
Rangaswamy, after stepping down, had said that the current situation makes it difficult even for people with good intentions to serve the game.
Kapil, who was appointed chief of the three-member committee in July this year, was tasked with the role of picking the head coaches of India women's and men's cricket teams. The committee had interviewed and re-appointed Ravi Shastri as head coach of the Indian team recently.

The members of the committee―Kapil, Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad―were served notices for Conflict of Interest by the BCCI's ethics officer D.K. Jain. MPCA life member Sanjeev Gupta had filed a complaint against the CAC members last month, saying that the members had several cricketing roles.
Gupta said Kapil Dev while serving as a member of the CAC is also a commentator, owner of a floodlight company, and member of Indian Cricketers Association. He also highlighted Rangaswamy's multiple roles in the ICA and CAC.
Rangaswamy said that she would not contest the notice and that she was also giving up her role in the ICA.
