Indian Super League club Delhi Dynamos FC is all set to be rebranded Odisha FC, just days after it was announced that Hyderabad FC—Pune City FC in a new bottle—would be joining the ISL this season.
The Delhi-based club will shift its base to Bhubaneswar to cope with the rising cost of operation in the capital.
An agreement between the sports and youth services department and the Delhi Dynamos management would be signed on August 31, in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The state government will provide training grounds and the Kalinga Stadium to the team.
The stadium was witness to footballing events like the Super Cup and the Indian Women's League. The state government has also got provisional clearance for 2020 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup at Kalinga Stadium.
The two-time semifinalists Delhi Dynamos will be hoping for a change in fortunes with a change in base and identity.
