Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli exhibited a spectacular performance to guide India to a mammoth score of 336 for five against arch-rivals Pakistan in their ICC Cricket World Cup match at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma scored his second ton in this World Cup hitting a majestic 140-run knock off 85 balls—his second quickest ODI century—before falling to Wahab Riaz. Rohit and KL Rahul (57) put on 137 for the first wicket.
Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli became the fastest cricketer to reach 11,000 runs in One-day internationals, breaking Sachin Tendulkar's 17-year-old record. Kohli scored 77 off 65 balls.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and chose to send India to bat. The India-Pakistan clash is one of the most anticipated matches in the World Cup. India have won all their six World Cup encounters against Pakistan, and Virat Kohli's men will look to make it seven this time.
