The Indian men's cricket team left early on Wednesday for the World Cup 2019, which is set to begin in England on May 30.

The BCCI posted pictures of the team lounging in the Mumbai airport before their flight to England.

India will kick off their 2019 World Cup campaign against South Africa in Southampton on June 5. Before that, the team will play two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh before the mega event.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led India to their second World Cup title in 2011, along with Yuzvendra Chahal, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Vijay Shankar, K.L. Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Kedar Jadhav, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are seen in the pictures posted by the BCCI on social media.

Vice-captain Rohit Sharma also posted a picture with Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav, captioning it “Jet set World Cup”.

Skipper Virat Kohli has said that the World Cup is going to be the most challenging for India because of the top rivals playing in the round robin format of the tournament. For the first time since the 1992 edition, all teams will play each other once to decide the semifinalists.

Kohli will lead Team India for the first time in a World Cup.
