By automating initial screenings and behavioral assessments, the platform delivers pre-evaluated candidates to enterprises within 48 hours while leaving final hiring decisions to human professionals.
Bengaluru-based AI company Welocity is bringing AI interviews in more than 25 languages to companies across the country. Welocity's patent-pending AI interviewer Octo now conducts around 2.5 million minutes of video interviews every month. This platform has brought immense benefits to companies and their hiring approach. Instead of spending weeks screening CVs and scheduling calls, hiring managers using Welocity meet assessed, interview-ready candidates within 48 hours.
At the heart of Welocity is Octo, an AI video interviewer that holds a real, structured conversation with every candidate in more than 25 languages, at any hour, on a laptop or a phone. It also has Numa, Welocity's behavioural assessment agent, which adds a view of how candidates communicate, solve problems and work with others. Recruiters then handle the human last mile, and every hiring decision is made by a person. Welocity launched in stealth a year ago and unveiled itself publicly only a few months back. Companies that are using Welocity include large banks, telecom companies, consulting firms, aviation businesses and startups. The company is also the hiring partner for WeWork India members. Through the collaboration, announced
by WeWork India, thousands of WeWork India member companies, from global capability centres and enterprises to fast-growing startups, now have a special member benefit with Welocity and a seamless, technology-led way to hire.
The technology behind Octo is patent-pending, with a provisional patent application filed at the Indian Patent Office in August 2026. It covers how Octo holds a natural, real-time spoken interview across many languages and assesses each candidate fairly against the norms of their own language.
"India has some of the best talent in the world, spread across hundreds of cities and dozens of languages, yet hiring still means weeks of screening and scheduling. We built Welocity in India because this is the hardest version of the hiring problem. The AI video interviewer Octo gives every candidate the same fair interview, in their own language, and AI does the heavy lifting while people make the decisions,” remarked Sunil Bist, co-founder and CEO of Welocity.
Welocity works alongside the job portals and hiring channels companies already use, focusing on assessing and delivering shortlisted talent. Candidate profiles are never public and are visible only to hiring managers at registered client companies. Currently, Welocity works with enterprises in India and the UK, and plans to expand to the US and Europe gradually.
How it works
A hiring manager shares a role and, within 48 hours, meets assessed, interview-ready candidates. Post the Octo interviews and includes a structured conversation with each candidate in their own language, at any hour, on a laptop or phone. The AI agent integrated assesses the fit as to how each candidate communicates, solves problems and works with others.
After that, the hiring team reviews assessed profiles. Recruiters handle coordination and paperwork. A person makes every hiring decision. The companies get assessed, interview-ready talent and do not have to search through a pile of CVs Welocity charges a company only when a hire joins. Candidates have the flexibility to give the Octo interview in their own language and at a time that suits them, putting them in front of enterprise hiring teams. Profiles are never public.
The AI Octo interview technology makes an AI interview feel like a real conversation, and makes it fair in every language. It seems like a natural conversation. Octo prepares its next question while the candidate is still speaking, so it responds as quickly as a person would. It is fair in every language, and each candidate is judged against the norms of their own language, not English yardsticks. It asks smarter questions, and each next question is chosen to learn what Octo
does not yet know, instead of following a fixed list. Even if a connection drops or a candidate switches device, the interview resumes where it stopped. The personal contact details stay hidden without proper authorisation and the candidate's consent.
