Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that Washington’s hostility toward Tehran will remain unchanged regardless of US political shifts, while cautioning that any renewed American aggression will be met with a massive retaliatory response. Khamenei emphasized in a written statement that concessions to the United States are futile, defending Tehran's regional military actions and control over the Strait of Hormuz. His comments come amid heightened regional tensions, reports of fresh military planning by the US, and recent localized strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said Washington’s hostility towards Tehran would remain unchanged even if President Donald Trump’s party suffered a defeat in the midterm elections.

In a written statement, Khamenei also warned that Iran’s response to any renewed US aggression would be on a much greater scale.

“Those who still harbour even the slightest hope that the behaviour of the hegemonic system might change through partisan or factional shifts, or who imagine that making concessions to the United States can dissuade it from hostility towards the Iranian nation, are seriously mistaken,” Khamenei said.

The Supreme Leader, who has not appeared in public since reportedly being injured in US-Israeli airstrikes earlier this year, defended the destruction of US bases in the region and Tehran’s handling of the Strait of Hormuz, describing them as part of a campaign against US hegemony.

“The US sees the end of its hegemony as distant; we see it as near,” he said.

Iran Parliament ‌Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Washington should not ignore public opinion by attacking his country again. "Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message," he said in a post on X.

Last week, Khamenei had ordered the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to prepare an “immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response” to any future attacks by the US and Israel.

Tensions remain high in the region, with media reports suggesting that Trump is weighing fresh military operations against Iran.

According to an Associated Press report last week, US officials had urged several Middle Eastern countries and regional allies to prepare for the possibility of renewed military action following the midterm elections.

Meanwhile, US forces reportedly carried out limited strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island on Tuesday, with residents claiming to have heard multiple explosions.
