Trump asserts full US control of Hormuz with 'Wall of Steel' blockade: 'There is nothing Iran can do about it'
The US Navy has stationed two aircraft carriers, an amphibious assault ship and 12 other warships in the Arabian Sea to control movement of ships passing through the strait
Donald Trump has declared the United States has absolute control over the Strait of Hormuz, supported by a substantial US Navy presence in the Arabian Sea enforcing a blockade. The US military recently fired on a ship attempting to evade this blockade. However, Iran's security chief, Mohsen Rezaei, has stated the strait will remain closed unless the US meets Iran's demands regarding regional conflicts and frozen assets.

Deviating from his anti-Muslim rhetoric on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday used the phrase 'Praise be to Allah' to end his latest post, asserting the United States has full control of Strait of Hormuz and that Iran can do nothing about it.
The US Navy has stationed two aircraft carriers, an amphibious assault ship and 12 other warships in the Arabian Sea to control movement of ships passing through the strait.
"The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, 'A WALL OF STEEL,' and there is nothing Iran can do about it," read the post on Truth Social.
Trump said Iran is no longer the bully of Middle East, adding that Tehran's economic condition is getting worse.
"All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION, and getting worse! Iran is all talk and no action, the Bully of the Middle East No Longer. Praise be to Allah!" he added.
This come hours after the US military said its forces fired on a Panama-flagged ship, M/V Vela Nova, in the Gulf of Oman after the vessel tried to evade the American blockade on Iranian ports. The US Central Command said the ship had ignored warnings to stop, following which a helicopter fired missiles into the engine room to disable the vessel.
The US military has redirected 55 commercial ships trying to evade the blockade, disabling three non-compliant ones and boarding two.
Meanwhile, Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei said that Hormuz will remain closed unless the US changes its behaviour and accept Iran's conditions to end the war.
"America must end the war, pay Iran's frozen assets, the war must end throughout the region, including in Lebanon and Gaza. If an agreement is reached between Iran and Oman regarding the transit route through the Strait of Hormuz, this agreement will be a matter separate from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz," said Rezaei, who was recently appointed the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
