Cash-strapped Iran, which has been ravaged by the ongoing US-Israel military campaign, on Saturday sought donations from Indians and shared the embassy's bank account number on social media.

Iran's economy was already struggling with the international sanctions, chronic inflation and depreciated currency while the ongoing conflict has deteriorated the situation. Iran's parliament had earlier cut four zeroes from the country's currency, rial, in order to simplify financial transactions.
