An FBI document released by the US Department of Justice as part of the Epstein files alleged that convicted sex offender and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein “trained as a spy” under former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak.

The 2020 document cites an anonymous source marked as a ‘confidential human source’ (CHS) who was close to Harvard law professor and lawyer Alan Dershowitz.

The source “shared phone calls between Dershowitz and Epstein during which he/she took notes,” according to the file. The details of the calls would then be “debriefed” to Mossad, who would call the professor.

The informant said they believed that Dershowitz “was co-opted by Mossad and subscribed to their mission”

Epstein was later represented by the professor who once reportedly told an US attorney that “Epstein belonged to both U.S. and allied intelligence services.”

The document, which is dated 16 October 2020, also details Epstein's connection to former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak. The source alleged that Epstein “trained as a spy under him (Barak)” and was convinced that Epstein was co-opted as a Mossad agent.

Barak also reportedly believed that Benjamin Netanyahu, “was a criminal.”

Dershowitz is a long time freind and advisor to Netanyahu and was involved in the defence of several high-profile cases, including Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump and O J Simpson. He is known for using his ties to the Trump administration to lobby for clemency for his clients.

He has also laughed at the claims made by the documents to the Times, saying, “No intelligence agency would really trust him.”  “That’s not something he would keep from his lawyers,” he added.

The files also show that Barak and his wife, Nili, regularly stayed in Epstein's New York apartment and had planned a visit close to the time of the financier’s final arrest and death a month later at a Manhattan penitentiary in 2019.

In 2018, Epstein asked Barak in an email to “make clear that i dont work for Mossad. :)”

Another email part of the Epstein files sent by Mark Iverson to an unknown recipient said, “I suspect Robert (Maxwell), Ghislane and Jeffrey were all Mossad agents trying to blackmail leaders in the political and financial world.”

Ghislane Maxwell’s father, Robert Maxwell, a British media tycoon and politician, has been widely suspected of being involved with Mossad and is known to have contributed millions to the Israeli economy. After his death, his body was buried in  Jerusalem’s Mount of Olives, a graveyard reserved for Israel’s elite servants, the Times reported.

Documents have shown that Epstein advised Barak on tech firm Palantir, asked the former Israeli leader to give former British minister Lord Peter Mandelson a job at an energy company and discussed the “massive” consultancy fees to be paid to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The convicted paedophile also arranged and contributed to the investment of $1.5 million in an Israeli start-up, Carbyne.

Lynette Nusbacher, a former British army intelligence who spoke to The Times said “There’s a tremendous mystery, widely discussed, about where his money came from,”“And is it possible that some of his money came from state sources for him to act as an intelligence asset,” “But there is no evidence to suggest that he was anything other than the awful person he was convicted of being.”

Nushbacher, a senior UK national security official, said, “Is it possible that Epstein was an asset to the Mossad? Yes. Do I think he was an agent of any intelligence agency? I think it was unlikely. Was he an officer? No.”

Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went on X to deny the claims after they spread online. “Jeffrey Epstein's unusual close relationship with Ehud Barak doesn't suggest Epstein worked for Israel. It proves the opposite,” he said.

“Stuck on his election loss from over two decades ago, Barak has for years obsessively attempted to undermine Israeli democracy by working with the anti-Zionist radical left in failed attempts to overthrow the elected Israeli government.”

“Barak's personal fixation led him to engage in activities publicly and behind the scenes to undermine the government of Israel, including fueling mass protest movements, fomenting unrest and feeding false media narratives,” he said

While there is no direct confirmation that Epstein was an asset to Israeli intelligence, there are hundreds of emails and documents linking Epstein to suspected agents of Intelligence Agency, Mossad. On the DOJ website, a search of “Ehud Barak” brings up about 3,985 results.
