The emirate of Sharjah will soon have its first sustainable residential community, the Sharjah Sustainable City II, that will boast of a 7.8 million square feet green masterplan with 1,032 homes. A project aimed at building an eco-friendly living will make its debut at the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition – ACRES, taking place from January 21 to January 24, 2026.
The Sharjah Sustainable City II is being executed by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), in partnership with SEE Holding.
As per the plan, the project will position itself as a leading hub that combines human-centered design, local agricultural production, clean energy, integrated waste and recycling solutions, and green transportation. The aim is to encourage a culture where everyday life is rooted in eco-friendly living and social accountability.
Green facilities
The residential complex will come up in the Al Rahmaniya area. The development will comprise 1,032 homes, of which 944 will be three-and four-bedroom townhouses, and 88 will be five-bedroom villas. All homes will be smart-enabled and equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient appliances to help reduce utility costs and environmental impact, according to reports.

The highlight of the residential unit is a two-kilometre green spine designed to encourage walking, cycling, and low-impact mobility. There will also be space for farmlands and biodomes so as to encourage local food production. Other specialities include integrated waste management systems, green transport solutions, and biodiverse landscaping.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Chief Executive Officer of Shurooq, said the Sharjah Sustainable City II is an ambitious step toward the future of urban living, built on the success of Sharjah Sustainable City. “This new phase embodies our vision for next-generation sustainability, where advanced technologies, intelligent infrastructure, and regenerative design converge to create a community that is not only environmentally responsible but truly future-proof,” Al Qaseer said.
