In an unexpected union, Sheikha Mahra, daughter of the Dubai ruler, is engaged to famous rapper French Montana. Sheikha Mahra, the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, shot to the limelight after she divorced her ex-husband, Sheikh Mana, an Emirati businessman and a member of the royal family, via social media.
A report appeared in the US tabloid TMZ claimed that French Montana, real name Karim Kharbouch, popped the question to the Dubai Princess during Paris Fashion Week in June, shortly after he walked the runway for the first time. The 31-year-old Princess was spotted with French Montana several times recently.
The rapper was first linked to Sheikha Mahra last October when she shared several photos of her giving the rapper a tour of Dubai. Though the pair did not go public as a couple until now. They were spotted at Paris Fashion Week events together.
Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed and his third wife, Zoe Grigorakos. The Greek national is reportedly divorced from the Emirati ruler. Sheikha Mahra, who was raised between Greece and Dubai, is also known as Christina. She had recently changed her name to Xtianna in her Instagram handle.
The princess, who got married to the Emirati businessman in a lavish function, divorced her ex-husband on Instagram, garnering publicity. She wrote: ”Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife."
The post had garnered limelight after women in the country are not allowed to legally divorce their husbands through this method, as only men are allowed to carry out the practice under Islamic law.
Following her divorce, she launched a perfume brand, Mahra M1, with its debut fragrance titled "Divorce". She is also a graduate of the University of London and has a significant public profile due to her royal status and philanthropic work.
As for French Montana, the rapper is of Algerian origin and was married once. He got divorced in 2014 and has previously been linked to Khloe Kardashian, Iggy Azalea, and Rubi Rose.
