The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Exams.
Vacancies: There are 18 vacancies for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and 30 vacancies for the Indian Statistical Service (ISS)
Qualifications:
For IES: Candidates must have obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics. Final year candidates can also apply.
For ISS: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Statistics, or a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Statistics.
Age Limit: The age limit for the IES and ISS examination is 21–30 as of August 1, 2024.
There are relaxations for certain categories: Scheduled Castes will get five years, OBCs three years, and members of certain other categories ten years. Exemptions are also available for veterans

Selection Process: The selection process consists of two stages. The first stage is a written test, followed by a second stage interview. The exam syllabus is available on the official website

Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 200. However, there is no fee for women, scheduled castes, and differently-abled candidates. The fees can be paid online or through SBI branches. Online applications can be submitted through the official UPSC website.
The exams are scheduled to commence from the 21st of June. The last date to apply is April 30, 2024
