PM inaugurates garment manufacturing facility
Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated Arvind Limited’s new garment manufacturing facility in Varanasi. The facility is expected to strengthen India’s textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem, promote industrial growth in the region and generate employment, particularly for women.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the facility will help Varanasi-made products reach global markets.
“With a global customer base, it is a testament to how products manufactured in Varanasi will reach across the world. Being a predominantly women-led initiative, it is a powerful symbol of women-led development,” the statement said.
In the afternoon, Modi is scheduled to travel to Bhubaneswar to inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s newly established Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute, marking a step towards strengthening the technological infrastructure of India’s financial system.
