The IMD has forecast isolated thunderstorms and lightning in Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi during October 7 and 8.

Delhi is likely to be partly cloudy on October 8, with temperatures expected to stay between 34 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius.

On October 7, Delhi remained warm, with a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperatures may drop on October 9 and could reach 32 degrees Celsius. Partly cloudy conditions are also likely on October 10 and 11, with temperatures expected to remain between 32 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius.

The IMD also predicted that the rain, thunderstorms and lightning are expected in several states, including Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, till October 12.

The rain spell is set to bring relief from the heat and humidity.

Strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms and wind speeds reaching upto to 40 to 50 kmph can be expected in the region.

On October 8 and 9, the wind speeds may reach 30-40 kmph with gusts upto 50 kmph.

The rain is being brought by a western disturbance in the middle and upper troposphere over North India.

A cyclonic circulation over South Haryana, South east UP and south coasts Odisha, the Kerala coast and north Tamil Nadu are over brining in rain and strong winds.

In Uttarakhand, the IMD issued a yellow alert for eight districts: Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Almora, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. Moderate rainfall is forecast over the next five days, while gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph can be expected.

Rain is also expected to continue in parts of southern India, including coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
