A 75-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his 20-year-old granddaughter at home in Indore. According to the police, the woman alleged sexual abuse by her grandfather during her childhood.
She allegedly hit him to death with a cricket bat. Reportedly, he was beaten 7-8 times with the bat. She rode to her grandparents' house on a motorcycle around 3 am and repeatedly struck him on the head and face.
The injured man was rushed to Aurobindo Hospital, but he died during treatment.
Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Singh Jadon said that an argument with the woman's parents over her returning home late triggered memories of the alleged abuse that led her to the act.
"On reaching the grandparents' home, her grandmother opened the door, and the woman walked straight into his room. She repeatedly struck her grandfather on his head and face 7 to 8 times," said Jadon.
Jadon also added that there was a heated argument between the accused and her parents on Saturday. During the argument, she had raised the abuse by her grandfather and questioned why they had not protected her then.
During the questioning, the woman told police that she had lived with her grandparents when she was a child. She alleged that her grandfather would grope her and touch her inappropriately.
Her grandfather was a retired trooper of the Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Force.
She further said that when she told her parents about the multiple incidents, her parents moved out with her and began living separately.
The investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault and the allegations of childhood sexual abuse.
